The role calls for a Tutor with demonstrable experience of teaching to the same standard as the best of the US and UK prep schools. Familiarity with US school standards at the appropriate grade levels would be an advantage. Spanish language to a high level and a deep-rooted understanding of the subtleties and nuances of communication are also required.

The role is based primarily in Mexico, Texas and California starting in September 2019. It will be renewable on an annual basis by mutual agreement, potentially for many years.

A highly able and skilled educator is required as soon as possible for this full-time tutoring position working primarily with a young boy (11) and to a lesser extent his sister (15). The boy currently attends a school in Hong Kong while his sister is currently in school in England. The role involves helping the bo reach the standards that allow for the possibility of getting into the very best boarding schools in England.

The Tutor must have first hand experience either as a student or teacher (or both) at one of the very best schools in England. The Tutor must be well versed with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) techniques, or open to learning new ones. It would be helpful if the Tutor had some familiarity with some of the common remedial techniques, and especially the Davis method for spelling and math mastery. The Tutor should also be able speak Spanish to a high level and be able to plan and deliver a full gamut of age-relevant subjects, probably following a UK syllabus and incorporating an IB pedagogy. The boy’s younger sister, who has moderate dyslexia, may also have some tutoring in addition to her school lessons, and his parents may wish to improve their Spanish

Lincolnshire

An experienced teacher is sought for a role working as a full time Tutor with an aspiring sportsman, aged 16. The position ideally starts in early August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate for this role will certainly have knowledge of the US system, and ideally also of the British system, and will be able to teach a large range of subjects up to and well beyond 12th grade.

This is a long-term role that will likely finish at the end of July 2022. For this first year of the role, at least, the student’s school has agreed a leave of absence for 11th grade and will keep his place, subject to earning at least 6 grade 11 credits.

Although largely based in Lincoln, there will be periods of travel involved as the boy moves between locations and competitions in the UK and Europe and his familial home in Singapore.
